Implementation & Training

COSS prides itself on short development cycles. With our proven development process, your customized illustration solution can be up and running in as little as 60 days. But what then?

COSS can help you quickly remove any training and implementation roadblocks, and speed you on your way to reaping the full benefits of higher productivity that you expect with the COSSEnterprise™ suite.

COSS actively helps clients plan implementation. We will work with you to assess your internal and external implementation needs, and to employ effective solutions for your home office staff, administrative and marketing teams, field management, producers and other company representatives.

COSS implementation and training experts can install and implement your system on-site or assist you via telephone or WebEx. Use our agendas, documentation, images and support material to conduct your own training, or involve COSS to any extent you see fit.

COSS provides free support with each system, as well as fee-based options that include in-person training; custom and off-the-shelf computer-based training; and implementation analysis, planning and rollout.

Included with Your System
Every COSS client has access to a solid foundation of support.

The best printed systems documentation in the industry. User Manuals are available for home office/high-level use, as well as for marketers/end-users. A small number of bound manuals are included with each system and you’ll receive the licensing rights to reprint and distribute the manuals yourself, or we can arrange for printing. Manuals are updated each year to reflect new system enhancements.

Online Help is built into each system. We convert our product manuals into field-sensitive help files that are available to all users 24 hours a day. Our help tools can also be customized to add individual product information, or to include company-specific procedures. Help files are updated with the system to reflect all modifications, including new releases by the client.

Toll-free Customer Support is offered from 8 AM to 5 PM Eastern time (800-408-COSS). In addition, you'll have direct access to a full-time project manager and access to the developers of your system.

E-mail help desk. Our in-house, full-time customer support staff will respond to your questions by e-mail and/or call to ensure your questions are resolved.

In-Person Implementation and Training Choices
COSS offers the following fee-based, face-to-face training and implementation options. We will customize a special implementation solution for you.

In our "Train the Trainer" seminars, one or two COSS system experts visit your company to train key personnel in all aspects of our system. "Train the Trainer" is our most popular training option. It typically involves a one- or two-day session of intense hands-on work with your own COSS system.

eLearning is our most thorough training program, developed around a four-step process of analysis, plan creation, implementation and results measurement. System experts and professional trainers work with your staff to deliver the optimal training plan for your users.

Training and consulting services are also available through a strategic partnership with NFC Consulting. NFC and COSS have joined together to bring insightful classroom-style and Web-based life insurance, annuity and securities training to their clients. NFC provides all administrative services for obtaining continuing education credits to meet insurance, CFP, CLU, ChFC, CPA, and NASD’s Firm Element requirements, including credits for the COSS eLearning suites.

CBT/Web-Based Training and Implementation
COSS offers several CBT and Web-based training solutions. Our in-house training department will work with you to design a professional, affordable and consistent message for your employees and producers. A summary of these solutions follows, although all products are fully customizable.

In our Walk & Talk system tutorials, a mentor narrates while the cursor walks across your system screens, entering data and performing typical tasks. The Walk & Talk provides an overview of system functionality and shortens the learning curve for new users. An effective tool for all system users, the Walk & Talk provides a consistent training message that can be re-played as often as necessary.

Our three eLearning suites are ideal companions to several COSS systems. The suites are fully customizable, offer CE credits, and can be accessed directly from your COSS system. Distribution via CD or Internet is also available. Content is typically updated each year. Each course contains two to three hours of instruction. The following courses are currently available:

Advanced Markets Suite: Covers Executive Bonus, Restricted Employee Bonus, Employer-owned Split Dollar, Employee-Owned Split Dollar, Non-Qualified Deferred Compensation, Dynamic Duo, Pension Maximization, Term vs. Permanent, Buy/Sell Funding with Life Insurance, Mortgage Assurance and Business Valuation.

Needs Analysis Suite: Covers Communication Skills (Sales), Working with Clients (Sales), Client Commitment (Sales), Survivorship, Education, Long Term Care, Disability, Retirement Planning.

Insurance Essentials Suite: Covers Value of Human Life, Term Life, Whole Life, Universal Life, Variable Universal Life, Annuities Parts I, II, and III, Ethics, Risk Assessment.

These integrated eLearning systems let producers train at their own pace and practice what they've learned with interactive quizzes and "You Decides." Case studies showcase realistic clients, provide sales tips, and demonstrate effective use of COSS solutions.
