Performance
Windows/.NET System speed is most determined by the network and server configuration used by the hosting entity and the number of users. COSS recommends a specific 3-tiered environment of software and hardware. Should COSS host the system, we would adhere to our recommended configuration.
COSS performs load testing on COSS Web systems to determine appropriate hardware and software configuration, maximum user load for a given configuration, and general performance enhancements. This load testing is performed on a segmented network environment that allows COSS to simulate a number of physical environments, including single server, two-tier, three-tier, and load-balanced environment. COSS uses the Mercury Interactive's LoadRunner tool for all load testing.
COSS tests its system at 100 concurrent users. The results of our internal testing are described in the attached document Web Load Test Results.
As to a potential of 10,000 users, the COSS Internet system is deployed into an N-tier physical architecture. This physical architecture offers many options for deployment, from simple deployment with few Web servers to a complex deployment with multi-tier server farms, which allows the COSS Internet system to offer rapid expansion to accommodate increases in user traffic. In short, the system offers a direct path to scale up without service disruptions or excessive cost.
